Cookies

We use cookies on our website.   These are provided by us and also third parties.

  • What is a cookie ?

A cookie is a small text file which asks permission to be placed on a user’s computer hard drive when they visit a website that uses them.

Cookies are not used on our Terms and Conditions or Privacy Pages. However by accepting our Terms and Conditions you are agreeing that you consent to cookies being stored on your hard drive. This is in accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 which came into force on 26th May 2011.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website.

A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or device or any information about you, other than that which you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies.  Most web browser automatically accepts cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may however prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

For instruction on how to decline and delete cookies then please scroll down to the relevant section.

  • What cookies we use and what for

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used.  This helps us to analyse data about our website to see which pages are being used and which are not, so that we can improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs.  We only use this information provided by the traffic log cookies for statistical analysis purposes.

We use Google Analytics Tracking Code on our website which in turn sets four cookie files on your computer or device. These cookies are called _utma, _utmb, _utmc and utmz. These cookies are traffic log cookies which enable us to identify which pages are being used and which are not so that we can improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information provided by the traffic log cookies for statistical analysis purposes.

The _utma cookie keeps a track of the number of times a visitor has been to the website, when the first time was and when the last time was in relation to days and visits. This cookie expires after  two years.

The _utmb and _utmc cookies work together to calculate how longer a visitor stays on the website for. The _utmb cookie takes a time stamp of the exact moment when a visitor enters a site and the _utmc cookie takes a time stamp of the exact moment when a visitor leaves a site.  The _utmb cookie expires when the session ends i.e. the site is closed.  The _utmc cookie expires 30 minutes after the _utmb cookie. The reason for this is the _utmc cookie has no idea when a user closes their browser or leaves a website so it waits 30 minutes for another page to be loaded from that particular site and if this doesn’t happen then it expires.

The _utmz cookie keeps a track of where the user came from, the search engine they used, what link you clicked on, what keywords you used and where in the world the user in located when they accessed a website.  This cookie expires in 6 months.

Our website also uses third party cookies.

Our contact us page uses cookies provided by Foxyform.com.  This website uses a total of 7 cookies although all may not be present on your computer.  It uses the same four as just mentioned above as well as an additional three which are PHPSESSID, ff and ffv.   The four mentioned early are used by Foxyform to track who uses their contact forms and where from.  The PHPSESSID, ff and ffv cookies are used to provide the information entered in the contact us form to us. The PHPSESSID is a unique code which relates to the information you enter into the contact us form.  This cookie expires when your session ends.  The ff and ffv cookies are used in order to process the information provided in the contact us form so that we can receive the information provided and respond to it accordingly. Theses cookies expire after 30 days. If you do not agree to these cookies being installed then do not navigate to our contact us page.
